White Bellied Heron of Namdapha

White-bellied Heron (Ardea insignis), is a mostly solitary bird occurring in undisturbed riversides of Noa Dehing and Namdapha rivers in Namdapha National Park. It has been listed as Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List since 2007. Its global population is estimated at only 250 individuals and 50 birds in India. Namdapha is proud to host at least 7 individuals and possible breeding site of this majestic bird.
