Show cause notice served to encroachers

As part of the exercise to evict encroachers in between 25 mile area upto 52 mile area inside Namdapha National Park and Tiger Reserve, a team led by Sh. Aduk Paron, Field Director & accompanied by Sh. Yowa Son Hade, Range Forest Officer, Gandhigram Wildlife Range and field staffs today dis-manteled and removed illegal structures in the form of 3 dwelling houses, illegal fences and Sign boards constructed within the Park area. Also Showcause notices were served to 8 inviduals residing illegally within the protected area. It is to state that there are 8 numbers of recognised encroached villages within the core/critical Tiger habitat of the Park.

Since the construction work of Miao -Vijoynagar road began,it is observed that new dwellings have started mushrooming near the M-V road. The authority of the Namdapha Tiger Reserve will not tolerate such illegal activities & ensure that the Park is free from from further encroachment. Actions will be initiated as per provisions of Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972.

Namdapha National Park & Tiger Reserve is a hot spot of Biodiversity and recognised throughout the world for its diverse flora and fauna. Let's pledge to preserve this precious gift of mother nature.
