Awareness program on Biodiversity of Namdapha

An Awareness program on Biodiversity of Namdapha National Park and Tiger Reserve with special reference to the critically endangered White bellied Heron was conducted today at the fringe area of Namdapha Tiger Reserve in Nalanda Nature School, M'Pen II, 8th mile, Miao. The Field Director, Sh Aduk Paron while deliberating the importance of community participation in preserving the world famous site, he also spoke on introducing children on nature conservation at an early age. 

Activities included nature education,  slide shows on nature and games related to nature conservation. The awareness program was initiated by Sikkim based Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment (ATREE).

The management of Namdapha National Park and Tiger Reserve is thankful to Dr Sarala Khaling,Regional head Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment (ATREE), Mr. Rohit George and Mr. Benjamin Yumlam for initiating this program in fringe area of Namdapha National Park and Tiger Reserve.
